鈥淎t first, I was a bit hesitant about the school's remote location,鈥 said Splendoria.
鈥淏ut it turned out to be one of the best decisions I ever made.鈥
While on campus, Nick dove headfirst into leadership roles, co-founding the Washington College Democrats and serving as the Speaker of the Senate for the Student Government Association. Splendoria's commitment to student life also saw him take on the role of treasurer for the Kappa Sigma fraternity. These roles not only honed his leadership skills, but also deepened his appreciation for teamwork and collaboration.
Academically, Nick was mentored by professors including Meghan Grosse in the communications and media studies department and Christine Wade in the political science department, who he credits with shaping his strong writing skills.
鈥淭he mentorship I received was invaluable,鈥 Splendoria said. 鈥淒r. Grosse and Dr. Wade really pushed me to think critically and communicate effectively.鈥
Splendoria's experience wasn't confined to campus. His internships at places like the Public Religion Research Institute and the House of Representatives' Office of the Historian were pivotal.
鈥淓ach internship was a new adventure,鈥 said Splendoria, 鈥淚t really opened my eyes to the professional world.鈥
A highlight was a brief study stint in Paris for the Model United Nation, an experience he describes as 鈥渁 perfect blend of learning and exploring.鈥
Now a research analyst at Elias Law Group, Splendoria is immersed in voting rights research, aligning his historical interests with his career.
鈥淚've always been fascinated by figures like George Washington and historical sites in Philadelphia,鈥 said Splendoria. 鈥淚t's amazing how those interests now connect with my work.鈥
Splendoria's zest for life outside work combines his passion for theater, reading and travel with friends made at Washington. As he looks to the future, Splendoria expresses a heartfelt desire to maintain ties with the community at the College.
鈥淚 work in D. C. now,鈥 said Splendoria, 鈥渁nd this is in no small part because of the education and the opportunities that I had and the connections that I made and had at 蜜桃传媒.鈥
